Today WildTangent reached a critical goal that we set out to achieve at the launch of the WildTangent Games mobile service in February 2013. WildTangent Games has become the largest mobile games network in the United States with 26.8 million monthly unique visitors, according to the latest comScore Mobile Metrix 2.0 report. WildTangent now leads an impressive list of companies, having surpassed gaming heavyweights EA, Zynga and Disney.

This is an exciting day for a company that transitioned to mobile a little over a year ago. I want to thank those who helped us get here and discuss the ranking’s importance to our company.

Path to #1 in Mobile

Looking back on the last year, our experience operating the WildTangent Games online service for over 15 years accelerated our progress in mobile. Our deep experience in reliably installing our technology and partner’s apps onto devices addresses an industry need, but, in my view, the results we’ve seen in mobile resulted from two key moves: developing key partnerships within the mobile and games industry; and delivering a compelling mobile game service and app with a library of top games. Without both of these working in tandem, we wouldn’t be where we are today.

WildTangent’s distribution partnerships with hardware manufacturers and mobile carriers for the WildTangent Games App for Android helped us achieve the millions of monthly unique visitors we see today. Most were new partners that grasped the value of a readymade games service after realizing the challenges involved in creating their own. Today, our Android app is installed on nearly 100 different models of smartphones and tablets through our hardware partners ASUS, ACER, SONY, Huawei, and Samsung, and mobile carrier partners AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint. And, there will be more partners to come in the months ahead.

Additionally, we have assembled a selection of great games in the WildTangent Games mobile service. We have and will continue to forge partnerships with top developers and publishers, including Glu Mobile, MobileBits Games and MADFINGER Games. Today, we have more than 470 games and, through many of our game partners, we’re able to extend WildTangent advertising solutions and connect their network to ours. This, too, was critical in our growth.

Who cares? Advertisers do

Games continue to be the top category in the massive mobile app market. With the latest eMarketer projections showing a 75% increase in mobile ad spending, advertisers look to the larger mobile game networks to promote their brands and products where they can reach the most customers. Enter, WildTangent.

When advertisers and media buyers research where to spend in mobile gaming, they’ll review comScore, the industry standard measurement system for advertisers, and see WildTangent atop the list. This ranking strengthens our position in an extremely competitive mobile ad market and we look forward to having discussions with the advertising community and building on this momentum in the months ahead.

The latest ranking is a tribute to the work of our teams across WildTangent, but we couldn’t have done it alone. I want to thank our partners who have helped us achieve this goal and thank our customers who have found WildTangent as a better way to find the games they want to play.
